Principal: Ms Tan

Ms Tan's musical journey began in secondary school when she joined the Chinese Orchestra as a Dizi (Chinese flute) player, later serving as a Sectional Leader in junior college. Entering junior college through Direct School Admission (DSA) for her musical talent further strengthened her passion for music and inspired her to pursue it more seriously. At 19, she expanded her musical training to include piano, Western flute, and vocals, attaining Grade 8 certifications within a few years and beginning her teaching career in her early twenties.

She later studied at LASALLE College of the Arts, where she was awarded the LASALLE Scholarship and graduated with First Class Honours. Her research focused on improving the quality of classical music education in Singapore. She subsequently pursued postgraduate studies at King’s College London, receiving the King’s Interdisciplinary (Thinking Creativity) Award. Her Master’s thesis examined the presentation of classical music performances on digital platforms.

In addition to her work in music education, Gresilda is also an active songwriter and performer. In 2024, she sang and composed the melody for 《昏暗中的等待》, winning the SCCC XChange Award at the SG:SW Mandopop Songwriting Competition, which was aired nationally on MediaCorp Channel 8. Her original songs have also been featured on multiple radio stations in Singapore, including 96.3FM, 93.3FM, Capital 95.8FM, and UFM 1003.

As an honoured Steinway Educational Partner (STEP) with 15 years of teaching experience, Ms Tan has taught students both recreationally and in preparation for graded music examinations. Her passion for education, combined with her entrepreneurial drive, led her to establish Silversnow Music School, where she strives to make music learning accessible and enjoyable. She firmly believes that learning has no age limits and continues to upskill herself to better support her students. She is currently undertaking her doctoral studies at National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NIE, NTU), focusing her research on motivation of classical music students.​

Her contributions to music education and entrepreneurship have been widely recognized. She was one of the youngest recipients of the Singapore Outstanding Enterprise Award (Top 150 SMEs) 2016/2017. Silversnow Music School has also been awarded the Best Enrichment and Learning Schools Award (Best Boutique Music School) by Parents World Magazine (Nov/Dec 2017) and has been ranked among the Top 3 Music Schools in Marine Parade by Three Best Rated for four years.​
