
Teacher Caspar

With over 17 years of teaching experience, Caspar is a musician, educator, producer and researcher whose work spans music performance, composition, audio production, recording and creative practice. His teaching philosophy combines music education with human-centred design and design thinking methodologies, helping students develop not only technical proficiency but also the ability to think critically, create confidently and solve musical challenges independently.
Throughout his professional career, Caspar has composed, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered music for a wide range of commercial, cultural and institutional projects. His portfolio includes work for UOB Bank, DBS Bank, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), National Gallery Singapore, OWNDAYS, as well as numerous advertising campaigns, films and multimedia productions. His experience spans the entire creative process, from composition and arrangement to guitar performance, recording, production and mastering.
As a performing musician, Caspar has toured, recorded and collaborated with artists across Singapore and internationally, including Alif, SleeQ, Syarif, Hanafie Warren, Farhan Shah, Sezairi, Anon, Syakir Rusydi, Direwulf, Vivienne's Verdict, Dropbeat Heartbeat and Sign of Five. Through these experiences, he has developed extensive expertise in live performance, songwriting, artist development, studio production and the realities of the contemporary music industry.
Caspar holds a Bachelor's Degree in Art, a Diploma in Music and ABRSM Grade 8 Guitar. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Future Sensing at Aalto University, where his research explores future-oriented thinking, creativity and innovation. In addition to his private teaching practice, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Arts Singapore (UAS), LASALLE College of the Arts, contributing to higher education in the areas of creativity, design, music and interdisciplinary practice.
His teaching encompasses Guitar, Classical Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Music Theory, Songwriting, Composition, Arrangement and Music Production. To date, he has taught more than 144 students across a diverse range of ages, abilities and musical interests. Students are provided with customised learning materials and guided through a structured, design thinking-powered and a science-based curriculum tailored to their individual goals, learning styles and creative aspirations.
Drawing from both industry and academic experience, Caspar's lessons are designed to develop adaptable, independent and expressive musicians. Whether students are preparing for examinations, pursuing performance opportunities, developing original music or exploring professional creative pathways, his approach focuses on building strong musical foundations while encouraging curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning.
